We’ve had such a wonderful experience at this music school! Both of my boys really enjoyed their lessons, and we were very happy with their teachers, Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Jessica. Ms. Elizabeth is very patient, attentive, and encouraging. She always made my son feel comfortable and helped him stay engaged and confident during his lessons. Ms. Jessica is warm, kind, and encouraging, and she made learning music fun and enjoyable for my other son. He always looked forward to his lessons with her. We’re taking a break for now because of our boys’ busy school and extracurricular schedules, but we’re truly grateful for the wonderful experience they had here. We would definitely recommend this school and both teachers to other families! ❤️Posted on Google![]()

My daughter has been taking drum lessons for 3 months now and it's been amazing. Her primary teacher is Lucas but she has had a substitute when he's not available. School is very communicative and detailed with changes; how long and what options we have. The front desk staff are helpful with making schedule adjustments since the website isn't as easy to navigate; you have to actively commit to canceling a class before you can reschedule. Overall, great school for kids wanting to get introduced to playing musical instruments.Posted on Google![]()

PMA has been excellent for my 5 year old who is taking drum lessons. Its a very professional, yet relaxed and friendly environment. The front of house is very organized and friendly as well. Gibb is our son's instructor and he has been so good at working with a 5 year old. He makes the lessons kid friendly and interesting, and knows how to keep his attention which can be hard with such a young child. I would highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

Great music school and teachers. I'm an adult taking lessons for the first time and feel very comfortable doing so. The recitals are well done and they focus on making the students feel at ease.
We recommend weekly lessons for consistent progress. Regular practice and instruction help build muscle memory and maintain momentum in your learning journey. However, we can accommodate bi-weekly lessons for students with particularly busy schedules.
We have guitars available for use during lessons at our studio, so you don’t need to bring one for your trial lesson. However, we strongly recommend having an instrument at home for practice. Our instructors can provide advice on selecting the right guitar if you’re looking to purchase one.
Learning timeline varies based on your goals and practice habits. Many students can play simple songs within a few weeks. Developing intermediate skills typically takes 6-12 months of consistent practice, while advanced techniques may require several years to master. Our Level Up program helps track your progress with clear milestones.
We typically recommend starting around age 6-7 for most children, though we’ve had successful students as young as 5. For younger children, we focus on building fundamentals through fun, engaging activities. Adult students can start at any age—it’s never too late to begin learning guitar!
We recommend starting with whichever type most inspires you. While acoustic guitars are more portable and don’t require additional equipment, electric guitars can be easier for beginners to press the strings down. The fundamentals transfer well between both types, so we encourage students to begin with the style that excites them most.
For beginners, we recommend 15-20 minutes of practice 4-5 days per week. Consistency is more important than duration. As you advance, increasing to 30-45 minutes per session will help you develop more quickly. Your instructor will provide specific practice plans tailored to your skill level and goals.

Our guitar instructors are talented musicians who know how to connect with students of all ages and skill levels. Lessons are tailored to your musical goals, whether you want to strum your first chords, play your favorite songs, or develop more advanced techniques. We welcome beginners, intermediate players, and adults, and we offer lessons in electric, acoustic, and bass guitar. Families can take multiple instruments under one roof, including piano, voice, drums, violin, DJ, music production, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, and ukulele.
To help keep students engaged, we offer a free and optional Level Up program. As students progress, they earn rewards like wristbands, certificates, and stickers. Structured across ten levels, the system gives students clear goals and a sense of accomplishment as they grow.

We know things can come up unexpectedly, so we make it easy to stay on track. With unlimited make-up lessons, students can reschedule any class using our online portal with no need to call or email. If you’d rather have help, our office staff can do it for you.
Our students don’t just learn: they perform. Every spring and fall, we host recitals at Boston Court Pasadena where students can show off what they’ve accomplished. Whether it’s a first performance or one of many, these events foster pride, boost self-esteem, and offer a memorable moment for families and friends to enjoy together.

Waiting for someone taking a lesson? Make yourself at home. Our parent lounge includes free Wi-Fi, device charging stations, and reading material for all ages. We also provide complimentary drinks, coloring books, and even a massage pillow if you need to unwind. There’s always free parking available out front for your convenience.
We have a full-time office team ready to help you every day of the week. Whether you need to adjust your schedule or ask a quick question, we’re here to make your experience smooth and stress-free.

All of our lessons are billed on a month-to-month basis. There are no quarterly or annual contracts, giving you and your family the flexibility to continue learning at your own pace at Pasadena Music Academy.
Since 2011, hundreds of families have chosen Pasadena Music Academy for their guitar and music lessons. Our strong reputation in the community is backed by consistently high ratings on both Google and Yelp.

We’ve put strong safety measures in place for peace of mind. All staff and teachers pass background checks. Every lesson room is equipped with a security camera (with footage stored for two months), and observation windows allow visibility into each space (except for our soundproof drum rooms). Parents and caregivers are welcome to observe lessons at any time.
Each year, we host a free picture day with a professional photographer. Students can bring their guitar and dress however they like for a casual, fun photo shoot. Adult students are welcome to join as well!
